    Building Your Immune System

    26 October 2010

    1-Proper Nutrition
    You Are What You Eat…Digest…Absorb….and
What You Do Not Eliminate !!

Try eating 80% Alkaline foods and 20% Acidic foods(viruses, bacteria, cancer, & any disease, only grow in an acidic body)
Vegetables and herbs are alkaline and everything else falls into the acidic foods.

Raw almonds have more calcium than cow’s milk, more protein than eggs, more fiber than any other nut, and zero cholesterol.

Try to eat foods that are In-Season, from your local area…NOT shipped in.

Cruciferous vegetables(raw or lightly steamed) are high in Vitamins A, C, & E, sulfur compounds, chlorophyll and fiber….these include cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, turnips, and radishes(red & white).
Eat Dark greens (2 or 3 times daily) raw, juiced, or lightly steamed.
Wild greens like dandelion, chickweed, watercress, mustard greens, collard greens, purslane & nettles are wonderful sources of chlorophyll, vitamins, & minerals. Romaine lettuce, arugula, spinach, parsley, cilantro, asparagus & kale also feed the liver and are good sources of glutathione, needed for a healthy immune to fight viruses.
Seaweeds like wakame, kelp, & bladderwrack are anti-viral and immune enhancing.
Beets, carrots, onions, shallots, leeks, chives, ginger, horseradish, and garlic are all immune-enhancing and fight harmful bacteria.

Spices & Herbs you cook with that have immune-enhancing activity are rosemary, sage, parsley, basil, oregano, celery, turmeric, nutmeg, clove, & ginger.

Protein foods should include beans(no soybeans), lentils, peas, fresh raw nuts & seeds, Fresh Rooster fertilized eggs, (which are rich in protein, glutathione, sulfur, many vitamins, minerals, & amino acids) Fresh fish(with fins & scales) like salmon, or rainbow trout, chicken, turkey, & red meats should come from grass fed, hormone free, antibiotic free, organically fed or wild game sources. No pork, please!

    Fresh Fruits—In Season…try to buy non-hybridized fruits & organic.

Grains—Gluten free…Quinoa, Millet, Brown Rice & Wild Rice.

2-Get the NEGATIVE nutrients out! They are Immune Suppressing!
-refined & processed foods, white foods
    -sugars & artificial sweeteners
    Stevia is the better option
    -alcohol
    -cigarette smoking
    -pesticides, additives, antibiotics
    -carbonated drinks
    -fruit juices
-coffee …….if you feel you need it(1 cup only) of organic,
    low acid coffee
-cow’s milk, creamers, sour cream, yogurt, cream cheese,
    cottage cheese, kefir, ice cream
    -fried foods
    -fast foods
    -food colorings, flavorings, & preservatives
    -margarine or hydrogenated fats
(use unrefined, cold pressed olive oil,
or sesame oil, or organic butter)

-DON’T SLEEP UNDER ELECTRIC BLANKETS(they alter the electromagnetic polarization of the cell membrane, which is required to make cell bound interactions happen).

3-Hydrate the body with WATER (1/2 body weight + 30 oz)
-Reverse Osmosis Purification takes out the chemicals, but leaves the minerals.
Aqua Fina, De Je Blue, American Fare(Kmart’s), are reverse osmosis & do not add other ingredients.

4-Exercise…get OUTSIDE, vitamin D from Sunshine, fresh air, flowers, trees, leaves, birds & other creatures to enjoy.
Walking, pilates, tai chi, yoga, stretching, rebounding, bicycling, swimming, & hiking all improve circulation, providing a plentiful supply of oxygen throughout the entire body, & strengthen the immune system.

REMEMBER exercise should be RELAXING & FUN…..NOT a burden!!!!

5-Drink Green Tea, it is anti-viral, & anti-bacterial. Mayo Clinic did a study comparing several Green teas & found Green tea from Japan had more medicinal properties than any other.

6- You are what you Think….Be positive, laugh, share, love, Forgive!
These will keep you Alkaline and Well.
Worry, Fear, Anger, Envy, Gossip, Selfishness, Complaining,
& Hatred are all Acidifiers, setting up the body to be sick.
Most health imbalances & symptoms have an emotion that
    triggered it all.
We must face and deal with those emotions.

7- Deep Breathing & Fresh Air replenish vital oxygen and help relax stress….Breathe in through your nose, hold, exhale out your mouth. 3-6 deep breaths
Anxiety, Worry, & Stress are immune suppressing!

8-Rest (our best Healer —rest & sleep make us alkaline!)
There are some amino acids, herbs, flower remedies, & even magnesium that can help ensure a good nights sleep. Herbs like Skullcap, Passionflower, Hops, Kava Kava, Chamomile, or the flower rememdy spray, Rescue Sleep, and the Amino acids like GABA, 5HTP, L-theanine, or L-tryptophan all aid in restoring sleep.

Sipping on hot water can settle the nervous system down when you feel anxious.

9-Eat slowly & peacefully, chew every bite to a liquid, before swallowing. Digestion begins in the mouth, the stomach completes the process.Poor digestion of proteins contributes to immune system breakdown & immune-related diseases. Try drinking, only water, before & after meals, not during the meal. Any liquid will dilute the digestive enzymes produced in the stomach, the food will sit there – putrefy & ferment, causing burping, bloating, gas, heartburn, reflux, and then effects the elimination.

    10-Strengthen your Thymus Gland

The Thymus gland, located in the upper part of the chest behind the breastbone, is a nursery for immune system cells that fight infection. This organ shrinks in size as we grow older & its effectiveness gradually diminishes. This is a quick exercise to stimulate your Thymus gland which will boost your immune system.
Every morning, Tap on the middle of the breastbone with your 2nd, 3rd, & 4th fingers for 5 minutes.

    11-Take Hot and Cold Showers
Begin you morning with a warm shower. Before you get out change the water temperature to lukecool or cold. Place your right leg in the cold shower first, then work your way up the body until all of your body is showering in the cold water. This will boost your Immune System.

    12-Elimination
You are what you do not eliminate!
A Clean Colon is a Clean, Healthy Body.
Viruses, bacteria, & parasites feed on old waste from the bowels. The waste that is not eliminated is poisonous & toxic to our blood, which then flows to the brain, heart, liver, immune, and every organ of our body.
